When using Mesquite Flour be aware of the harsh environment this plant thrived in.This flour will suck moisture from a piece of rock if given enough time. When using in a batter, mix recipe like normal with Mesquite as an additive. Then increase liquid to compensate.
A good example is pancakes. Follow Bisquick recipe plus one tablespoon of Mesquite Flour for every ten pancakes. Let rest for 20 or 30 minutes and then add more of liquid ingredient to bring batter to the correct consistency. Another example, follow recipe on bag of Aunt Jemima for cornbread, plus 2 Tbls of Mesquite Flour and another 1/2 cup of milk. Let rest.
Add to soups, stews, pot roasts, chili con carne, spaghetti sauce, broths or whatever suits your fancy.
